Introduction

Whole Education is a collaboration between leading non-profit organisations in education that share a common set of beliefs about education and actively support schools, colleges and youth organisations in helping to provide young people with a ‘whole education’ across the country.

Our partners are already working with more than 5,000 schools and colleges and with many youth groups and charities.

We want all young people to receive a well-rounded education that they can relate to. We want all young people to learn practical skills such as communication and teamwork, to develop qualities such as resilience and empathy and to acquire knowledge that goes beyond literacy and numeracy to an understanding of our culture. A ‘whole education’ will combine practical skills with theory, vocational and academic study for all young people whatever their ability.

Our overall aim is to ensure that all young people have access to a Whole Education. We aim:

1. To increase awareness and understanding of the need for Whole Education and to promote its value.
2. To increase engagement and support from individuals and organisations across society for Whole Education.
3. To support the spread of Whole Education practices via the Whole Education Network.
4. To enable necessary changes in education policy.
