Teachers and students working together as agents of change in their learning communities

Educators tell us that they want to create more opportunities for young people to set their own challenges and solve their own problems. They want to find new ways of involving students as co-producers of engaging learning experiences.

So we’re working with teachers and students - supporting them to take shared responsibility for creating and implementing practical strategies that transform their learning community.

Participating schools find our approach is a powerful catalyst for change in both attitudes and practice:

Teachers and students both find the experience provides valuable learning, for life and work.

They also report that their relationships with one another are improved, and in some cases transformed, by the experience.

School Leaders say that the process has provided ‘the perfect forum’ for leadership development across the school, prompting a wider school dialogue about learning and teaching, and building a genuine and collective sense of agency in the school improvement process.

"If all our CPD opportunities could look like this, we’d have teachers queuing up to take part.  It's the kind of CPD experience you want to bottle”

Sam Otto Deputy Head Teacher, Herringham Primary School
