Mind Lab
Mind Lab
Mind Lab is a curriculum, which helps prepare the next generation for the complex challenges of the 21st century by strengthening their cognitive, emotional and social skills, teaching them to think reflectively and 'learn how to learn'. It is also an innovative teaching methodology which empowers teachers with proven educational methods that engages pupils and develops their abilities. Mind Lab has been used in classrooms around the world for 17 years, is in over 25 countries and has benefited over 2 million children.
Mind Lab is a systemic approach that engages not only teachers, pupils, and schools but also the family. Mind Lab combines a curriculum, structured in age appropriate courses centred around a wide range of unique board games, to teach students from 4-18, with an innovative teaching methodology which empowers teachers to apply the best of educational theory in their daily practice.
Mind Lab is designed to be taught as a weekly or bi weekly class taught by the schools teachers. The programme has 3 elements:
School Lab - The school buys the School Lab of games, materials and curriculum.
Student Kits - Parents buy their child’s Mind Lab student kits, which are an integral part of the programme’s implementation. The student kits include 3 workbooks, a unique Mind Lab family game and access to the Mind Lab online community. Schools can choose to make the student kits an optional addition.
Implementation - Mind Lab provides initial training required to certify a selected group of the school’s teachers. Mind Lab will continue to visit the school once a term to observe and coach the Mind Lab teachers as well as provide a discussion forum and on-going training. Mind Lab teachers also have access to the Mind Lab teacher’s academy which includes a web knowledge base, teaching aids etc.
