Children at Sythwood Primary School
Fieldwork Education
The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) are comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculums for primary and middle age children that combine academic, personal and international learning. Over 1,000 schools in the UK, as well as schools in more than 77 countries around the world are learning with the IPC or the IMYC. The IPC and the IMYC are part of Fieldwork Education which, since 1984, has been helping schools all around the world improve children’s learning.
The IPC and the IMYC provide a clear process of learning with specific goals for every subject, for international mindedness and for personal learning. Both curriculums have been designed to ensure rigorous learning but also to help teachers make all learning engaging, active and meaningful for children. Learning with the IPC and the IMYC takes a global approach; helping students to connect their learning to where they are living now as well as looking at the learning from the perspective of other people in other countries.
Schools pay a one-off fee for the whole IPC or IMYC curriculum which includes the Learning Goals, the Teachers Framework incorporating a wide range of units of learning, an Assessment for Learning programme and much more. Schools can also choose IPC or IMYC membership, enabling them to connect with other member schools around the UK and internationally. Professional Development and learning-focused events and conferences are available for schools throughout the year.
