Driver Youth Trust

The Driver Youth Trust is a charity dedicated to improving the life chances of children and young people with a focus on those who struggle with literacy, particularly children with dyslexia.

We want to see a time when all children, including those who struggle with literacy, are given the help they need to learn how to read and write; when children with dyslexia are identified and supported from an early age so that their dyslexia is not a barrier to learning and they are given the self confidence they need to succeed in whatever they set out to do. Our core activities involve:
Working in partnership with other organisations to help children to access education, build their confidence and realise their goals.
Commissioning research and campaign for policy change so that all children, including those with dyslexia, get the right support to learn to read and write and reach their full potential. Click here to read our Fish in the Tree report.

Drive for Literacy
is a collaborative project with with Ark Schools, a national academy network. This is a programme that gives teachers a better understanding of how they can help pupils who struggle with literacy and may be dyslexic. The programme gives them the skill set to make the necessary adjustments to meet the needs of these pupils so they can access the curriculum and experience success.
