VisionWorks for Schools

VisionWorks for Schools is a not-for-profit organisation committed to developing simple, practical tools to use Emotional Intelligence principles in ways that will most benefit students, teachers and schools. VisionWorks is made up of teachers, trainers and supporters all of whom recognise that emotional well-being is a vital key to learning and necessary for success in life.
Summary of Project
VisionWorks programmes teach students to recognise that their behaviour is driven by their emotions. Written by teachers for teachers, the materials integrate Daniel Goleman’s 5 key domains of Emotional Intelligence: self-awareness, regulating emotions, empathy, social skills and motivation. The programmes are a systematic and profound way to implement a whole school approach to student wellbeing and personal development. Very easy for staff to use, the schemes incorporate a variety of activities including creative projects, role play, group discussion, buddy work, visualisations, stories and puzzles.
What’s on offer for Practitioners
The ready-to-use schemes of work, MY WORLD and IT’S OK BEING ME, offer a whole school approach to Social and Emotional Skills at KS2 and KS3.
DISCOVERING ME is ideal for smaller groups including PRUs. EMPOWERING ME is the KS4 programme; it comprises 10 PowerPoint lessons on the key elements of Emotional Intelligence.

VisionWorks also run inset days, provide bespoke training for schools and educators, and run regular training days around the country for anyone involved in education. Furthermore, anyone who registers on the VisionWorks website has access to a valuable and growing library of free downloads.
