Assistant Head at Clevedon School, Jim Smith, shared that the conference allowed him time to reflect and provided some affirmation that his school is right to pay attention to its young people's values; indepedent and life-long learning skills and the competencies they may need throughout the 21st century.

Reiterating her keynote speech, Caroline Waters shared her belief that the world in which young people are likely to be working in is set to be dramatically different to the modern day, and as a consequence it is fundamental that we reassess the skills, qualities and knowledge we priortise in learning.

John Bateman, member of the Whole Education Advisory Group, is involved in Whole Education's work because of his belief in young people having access to broad learning opportunity. In this interview he stresses the importance of the conference as a way of moving beyond simply talking- but onto to action and doing!

Danuta Tomasz (Headteacher) and Dave Flowitt (Associate Headteacher) from Goole High School discussed their motivation for attending the event. Their reasoning was twofold. Firstly that they're at a transition point of assessing their curriculum and the event offered an opportunity to see the work of other schools on both a national and international level. And secondly, as the only high school in their community it is fundamental that they adequately prepare their young people for the future- as it is those young people who will need to contribute to the success of the town.
