Norley Hall Action Group, Wigan
All Different and Equal
"Norley Hall Action Group’s young people are currently taking part in a Bronze Youth Achievement Award. The biggest challenge so far has been to design a poster for National Youth Work Week entitled, ‘All Different All Equal’. The poster was designed to allow young people from the borough to look at equality, stereotypes, views and images of young people today. The Action Group also completed a three night residential at Alston Residential Centre in Cumbria. The residential was an extremely positive experience as the young people had to secure the funding themselves from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund. The group had to do a presentation to the board to secure the money, therefore taking ownership of their project and learning how to work as a group towards deadlines. Since starting the Bronze Youth Achievement Award the group have come on in leaps and bounds, learning new skills and conquering new challenges. I thoroughly look forward to the final poster and them completing their Bronze Youth Achievement Award."
