Hina's Story

Hina’s Story

"Hina Dayala is a fantastic young person who has been volunteering with Leicestershire Connexions for over a year. During this time she has been involved in a variety of different projects including: interviewing prospective new Connexions staff, taking part in consultations and being part of the Connexions Grant Panel. The Grant Panel assess bids from Voluntary and Community sector organisations for funding from Connexions. Panel members have to be very skilled in looking for things like value for money and often have to make difficult decisions. The Youth Achievement Awards have been a great way to give Hina the opportunity to gain credit and recognition for her hard work. Just before Christmas she started working on her Bronze Youth Achievement Award, as part of this she has trained peer mentors and has led a group of young people in designing and delivering presentations to Youth Offending Service workers. The team at Connexions are very proud of everything she has achieved and believe she has brought value to their team."
