The Co-operative College

The Co-operative College is working to establish co-operative trust schools across the country. It also produces teaching resources designed to put an ethical dimension into enterprise education, and to embed co-operative values into the curriculum.

CO-OPERATIVE TRUST SCHOOLS

The College is on well on the way to its target of creating 200 co-operative trust schools, which embed co-operative values into the long-term ethos of school, by the end of 2010. The Co-operative Schools Network was launched in November 2009 to enable co-operative trust schools to provide practical support for each other.

CO-OPERATIVE STUDIES

The Co-operative College offers a progression in Co-operative education in conjunction with the awarding body ASDAN. The programme introduces school students of all ages to co-operative values and ethics, through curriculum areas such as citizenship.

YOUNG CO-OPERATIVES

Young Co-operatives encourages students to set up their own co-operative business based on one of three models: Fair Trade, the Greenfingers horticultural project and Recon waste management scheme
