We are what we do

We Are What We Do is a global movement that believes it's not just politicians, institutions and big businesses that can change the world - ordinary people can do it too.

There are loads of small things we can all do everyday. We call them Actions. Little things like turning off the tap when you're brushing your teeth, taking your own bag to the supermarket or teaching your granny to text. They might seem small and insignificant on their own, but their effect can be massive. If we all do them regularly, we can have a huge impact on many of the environmental and social problems we are facing.

We have an über-energetic education programme which works with schools and communities to get people doing actions and campaigning to spread the We Are What We Do word. We also work with other companies in various ways: producing high profile campaigns together, running corporate social responsibility programmes, and giving talks.

But what we're doing is just the start. We like to explain it with our pebble theory: The work we do, whether it's producing a book or a bag or giving a speech, is a like dropping a pebble in a pond: the most interesting part is the ripples it creates. People have heard of We Are What We Do and set up movements in Uganda, collected over 5000 pairs of specs to recycle, taken over their school for the day, given our books to 150,000 employees... we've even had wellies decorated in our honour. Together we can create tidal waves, so go on, show us your ripples.
