Taking place: Alternating Wednesdays, 11am
During this challenging time, it is more important than ever to be part of a network; to have the space to talk to colleagues, hear what they are doing and share ideas.
Our WE Primary peer support network virtual meetings are designed to support you during this challenging time. They are an opportunity to learn with and from colleagues across the country during this fast-moving situation. They are based around schools sharing what they are doing that others might benefit from, and what they’re challenged by and would like others to feedback on.
Foxborough Primary School
The leaders at Foxborough Primary School will share learnings and insights into their social and emotional learning project.
“Seeing the impact of the pandemic on mental health and wellbeing on both staff and pupils, we knew it was important to equip everyone with a toolkit on how to navigate our own and each other’s’ emotions. We wanted to embed a shared language for navigating and discussing emotions. Using the work of Professor Marc Brackett and his book, ‘Permission to Feel’, we have adopted the Trust wide approach of the RULER toolkit which has enabled pupils and staff to expand their emotional vocabulary as well as to discuss their feelings in a more open and constructive way. Consequently, we have seen a more harmonious working environment for staff and also pupils that are beginning to understand the impact of their emotions on how they behave.”
WE Network Support for you
After the success of our WE Primary network supporting meetings last year, WE are continuing to host Zoom calls fortnightly, at 11am on Wednesdays for you to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and hear what others are doing to respond to common challenges.
Each week’s meeting will include an input and then opportunity for discussions/questions and a general catch up
To help schools collaborate and share ideas during this extraordinary time, all these virtual meetings available to all primary schools.
