We found children needed explicit conversations to explain and identify what feedback is and the purpose behind it. This will then develop our next steps in assessing children’s self-assessment of their learning and raising their self-esteem. In eliminating not having a green comment in their book but a verbal conversation with their teacher to further their learning.
Our advice to other schools would be to consider whether their feedback to children on their learning is accessible to all abilities.
