Supporting headteachers on their individual leadership journeys with termly events to provide personal and professional nourishment.
WE understand the challenges faced by headteachers and therefore work closely with you to add capacity to you and your schools.
Our headspace series is deliberately reflective, providing personal and professional nourishment. It gives you, as the lead learner in your school, ‘distance from the desk’; time to look out and develop your own thinking.
It provides support on your leadership journey through events and networking designed to help you reconnect to your wider vision and purpose. In the last 2 years this has been provided by Giles Barrow, Geoff Barton, Viv Grant (Integrity Coaching), Mary Myatt, Alison Peacock and James Pope (Heads Up).
Headspace events also build the social capital and peer support group you tell us is so valuable – but the system sometimes neglects to provide.
“Honestly [I would change] nothing, it was one of the most useful sessions I have had the privilege to attend.”
“Not sure I ‘enjoyed’ the session – but I’m glad I came and experienced the discussion and challenge! Really thought-provoking and energising.”
“I don’t often get time to read about learning as I am so busy doing the day job – you have inspired me to carve out more time to ensure I keep on learning and challenging my thinking – ASK WHY. What could be more important than that? I feel inspired.”
“Incredibly thought provoking and very useful to take back to school understanding how my own experiences have shaped who I am today”
“It was great to really think and reflect. We don’t make time to do this often enough. I will take this back to school to inform senior leadership thinking.”
“Useful to listen and consider – not had a lot of that for a while. Lots of practical suggestions – I am genuinely excited to do more work/research on some of the areas covered . Great to have time to challenge my own thinking and methodology and to learn!”
The headspace summits
Autumn headspace summit:
The Autumn Headspace event unashamedly focuses on evidence-based approaches to practically supporting ourselves and each other. This uplifting event is designed to help you look out and consider what you are doing and why you do it. We are fortunate to have many ‘friends’ of Whole Education who support this strand.
WE Annual Conference
The WE Annual Conference is the second Headspace event of the calendar, and focuses on us learning together as a group. Our Annual Conferences are inspirational opportunities to learn from leading international experts. Embedding it in our headspace series givse you time to look out and build your professional expertise.
Summer headspace summit:
The summer is an opportunity for WE Heads to meet in a more informal setting, to reflect on and share successes and challenges from the year gone by and celebrate our shared achievements, It is a time to take stock of how we have developed as professionals and reconnect.
