Learning Group: Curriculum and Pedagogy with Meena Wood

This event on 13th June is part one of two Learning Groups that we are running with Meena Wood, former Headteacher, HMI and Author of A Secondary Curriculum Transformed: Enabling All to Achieve. We are putting the sessions close together to allow greater sequencing of flow and continuity. The second session will be taking place on Thursday June 20th.

We would like these sessions to be interactive and designed with the aim of sharing our practice on what is working well and the challenges we face with designing a curriculum that optimises all students' learning progress and outcomes.

Therefore, apart from Meena’s input, we would like to invite you to contribute to the sessions with examples of good practice from your setting/school as part of the collaborative learning process and networking. The themes of the workshops will reflect curriculum design and learning journey as follows:

13th June Part 1. How best to ensure agency of pupils' learning through developing metacognition (flipped learning, AI, Padlet, oracy skills, powerful dialogic questioning, project based/enquiry led learning, other)?

20th June Part 2. Following the change in OFSTED’s  framework abandoning subject deep dives from September, there will be greater emphasis on quality of learning instead and this session will be helpful to you in planning for this, evaluating the impact of curriculum; when and how do you know it’s right for all your pupils, SEND, 'disadvantaged' more able? (assessment techniques, learning walks, observations, students’ voice, other)

Learning Groups are open to members of the Whole Education network and can be signed up to via our Digital Network. If you are not a member, but would like to attend, please contact us.
