This session with Matt Bromley is on Feedback and Critique and will explore feedback in the classroom and how to act on feedback

Meena Wood will be joining us on 16th January with an expert input on the Flipped Learning for Student Agency strand of the Lab Classrooms programme. 

Claire will be talking about her experiences and research of ‘Metacognition and Self-Regulation’. She will focus on a broader conception of metacognition and self-regulation rather than the narrow focus on revision and study skills which is how this topic is often translated in schools. The session will include examples of how Claire has considered this area in her current school, linking this with research to stimulate ideas.

Dr. John Taylor will be discussing Deeper Instruction, the principles that underpin the work he has done and his philosophy in the classroom. John will discuss how starting with open questioning, you can iterate into project work and a way of using this pedagogy throughout learning. John will also give advice on how you can promote and upscale this with colleagues.

Rachel Higginson will be leading this session on the Oracy strand. Rachel will be discussing why oracy is so important, what the potential barriers are to great oracy practice in schools and some practical ideas she has gained through her experiences. One of the key elements of this strand will be how important the links are between strong oracy and personal development.
